City, who have won each of their last 13 meetings with the Hornets in all competitions, will travel to Hertfordshire looking to build on Wednesday evening's 2-1 triumph over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

First-half goals from Portuguese duo Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva were enough to seal all three points for City, although their two-goal advantage was halved immediately after the half-time interval through Villa striker Ollie Watkins. Nevertheless, the Blues held on to register a fourth successive Premier League triumph.

City will now be looking to maintain their excellent run of recent form against a Watford side who were narrowly beaten by Chelsea in midweek, going down 2-1. Nevertheless, it promises to be a stern test for Pep Guardiola's outfit, with the Hornets having recently beaten Manchester United and Everton in emphatic fashion.

But how do the pundits think City will get on against Claudio Ranieri's side?

Mark Lawrenson - BBC Sport

"Watford were very unlucky against Chelsea in midweek," Lawrenson told BBC Sport. "The very least they deserved was a point, if not all three.

"But now they have to try to raise their game again, against the defending champions. I just don't think it's possible to do that twice in the space of four days.

"Manchester City had to hold on for their win at Aston Villa on Wednesday but they can defend well when they have to, and we know how good they are going forward."

Prediction: Watford 0-3 City.

Paul Merson - Sportskeeda

Merson told Sportskeeda : "Watford are making it hard for big Premier League clubs, arent they? They wiped the floor with Manchester United, and they made Chelsea struggle this week.

"They have good counter-attacking players and will make it difficult for Manchester City this weekend.

"Manchester City play brilliant football, but they need to finish their chances. Im worried that they wont be able to put teams away this season.

"I thought Bernardo Silvas goal the other day was phenomenal. Hes been absolutely outstanding this season and is now the talisman of the team.

"Pep's quite clever that way one minute, De Bruynes the star of the team. The next, it's Bernardo, or [Raheem] Sterling, or [Riyad] Mahrez. Watford could trouble them on the counter, but I think Manchester City will win this game."

Prediction: Watford 1-3 City.

Michael Owen - BetVictor

"Watford can probably count themselves a little unlucky against Chelsea on Wednesday," Owen told BetVictor. "They created some chances but if you dont take them, the top sides make you pay.

"Watford always pose a threat though and [Josh] King and [Emmanuel] Dennis continue to score regularly.

"I thought that was a performance of champions by City against Villa. Its never easy to go away from home in mid-week but those two goals were superb, particularly Bernardo Silva's.

"City are beginning to look ominous in this title race. They get better and better each week, and I can only see a comfortable win here."

Prediction: Watford 0-3 City.
