The Englishman's future at Old Trafford is in doubt as he struggles to secure regular first-team football with the Reds despite his promising loan spell with West Ham last season.

This season, he found opportunities under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hard to come by but did make cameo appearances under caretaker manager Michael Carrick.

With the arrival of Ralf Rangnick, it remains to be seen as to whether he holds a place in the German's plans but the Daily Star reports that the former Hammers loanee is among a whole host of names eyed for moves to St James' Park.

It comes following the influx of finances following the take over of a Saudi-led consortium.

Ross Barkley and Tottenham Hotspurs Harry Winks have been identified as potential targets.

They're also said to be looking for defensive reinforcements as they still await their first win of the season with Nat Phillips, James Tarkowski and Manchester United target Kieran Trippier linked.

Meanwhile, reports surrounding Edinson Cavani's future continue to heat up with Barcelona said to be interested.

Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness have the Uruguayan on their front page with the United strike said to want 'more prominence' in a squad as he hopes to assert his claim for his nation's 2022 World Cup squad.

Xavi's side are said not to be put off by the forward's age as they look to acquire a number of free transfers with their ongoing financial struggles.

Cesar Azpilicueta, Andre Onana and Andreas Christensen are among the players linked with moves to Camp Nou.

The report continues saying that should his current situation at Old Trafford stay the same under new manager Rangnick, he may try and force a January move.
