Emmanuel Denis, Ismail Sarr out of Watford clash against Everton

Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis and his Senegalese counterpart Ismaila Sarr have been ruled out of Watford’s Premier League game against Everton on Wednesday.

Watford manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed to the relegation bound club’s website about the unavailability of the duo and other players such as Tom Cleverley.

“With [Tom] Cleverley, it’s the injury he received in the game, with [Emmanuel] Dennis and [Ismaïla] Sarr it’s a knee problem that they’ve reported which has ruled them out, and with [Joshua] King and [Kiko] Femenía, it’s sickness,” Hodgson said.

“We were hoping it would pass but it hasn’t yet. [Juraj] Kucka missed the last game due to a knee problem and will miss the next one for the same problem.”

The manager should be more worried with Dennis’ absence as he is the team’s leading scorer this season with 10 goals from 35 games across all competitions.

Watford have their backs to the wall having lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace over the weekend.

Watford have slim chances of surviving relegation as they have 22 points from 35 games, one point ahead of Norwich City who surely are going down.

On the other hand, Everton are safe on 16th place with 35 points having defeated Leicester City 2-1 over the weekend to build on their impressive run that saw them edge Chelsea 1-0 last week.
