In Al Bayt stadium.. Legend George Weah watches his son achieve what he could not do

George Weah, President of Liberia, followed the match between England and the United States of America, on Friday evening, which ended in a goalless draw, in the second round of the group stage of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

And Weah, who won the Golden Ball in 1995, was in the stands of Al-Bayt Stadium to watch the England-USA match, for which his son Timothy is playing.

Timothy played in the starting line-up during the match, which ended in a goalless draw, until he was replaced in the 83rd minute by Giovanni Reina.

And Weah, the father, received great applause when the stadium cameras showed his image, at the end of the second half, while he saw his son achieve what he could not do, which was to play in the World Cup.

George Weah played for Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan, where he achieved his best success before playing for Chelsea and Manchester City in the Premier League.

The President of Liberia played 75 international matches and scored 18 goals, but he did not qualify with his country for the World Cup.

His son, Timothy, was born in New York and decided to represent the US national team.
