High Flying Portugal Based Winger Replaces Ahmed Musa In Super Eagles Squad For Algeria Friendly Game

The captain of the senior national team of Nigeria Ahmed Musa won’t be part of the team when they take on Algeria in an intentional friendly game on Saturday in Oran as first reported by

Musa picked up an injury while on duty for his club Sivasspor and after scans yesterday, it was discovered that he suffered a fracture in his left arm hence won’t be honoring the invitation by Nigeria for the game against Algeria.

The coach of the Nigerian team Jose Peseiro has moved smartly to replace him with Casa Pia winger Savior Godwin, it is his first call up to the senior national team of Nigeria. He was voted the best player in the Portuguese second division after helping his team to promotion to the top division.

26 year old Godwin who was a part of the 2013 Nigeria U17 and also 2015 U20 team, has so far played all seven games for Casa Pia this season with two goals to his name. His team is sixth on the league table. Prior to joining the Portuguese side last season he was at Belgium side KV Roeselare.
