Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian youngster Maxwell Woledzi from Nordsjaelland ahead of the new season.
The 20-year-old joins the club on a long-term deal after successful negotiations and passing his medicals earlier this week.
Lasts season, the highly-rated defender featured in 24 games in all competition for the Danish side.
Woledzi made 33 appearances for Nordsjaelland in total, having joined them in 2019, scoring once and providing one assist.
“I am very grateful for the time I have had in FC Nordsjælland,” the centre-back said as quoted by Danish club’s official website.
“I owe a big thank you for giving me the opportunity to come and play for the club in its time. What a journey it has been. I have been through both ups and downs, and I have grown enormously – both as a player and as a person.”
Woledzi becomes the third Ghanaian to play for the Portuguese top-flight team, following in the footsteps of Black Stars pair Gideon Mensah and Abdul Mumin.
