Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will be aiming to get back to winning ways in the Hollywoodbets Super League as they clash against Ma-Indies Ladies in a midweek battle at the Lucas “Masterpieces” Moripe Stadium.
The Brazilians were held to a 1-1 draw by a resolute University of the Western Cape (UWC) at Tuks Stadium on Sunday.
That draw kept Sundowns Ladies at the top of the standings with 46 points after 15 wins and one draw in 17 games played. The Brazilians have also scored a league-high 72 goals and have conceded only 10 times, whilst boasting a league-leading goal difference of +63.
Last season, Sundowns Ladies scored 10 times against Ma-Indies Ladies thanks to a 3-0 home victory and a 7-0 away triumph in the final game of last season.
Earlier this season, The Brazilians registered a 2-1 victory over their opponent thanks to strikes from Miche Minnies and Boitumelo Rabale.
Despite the recent dominance in this fixture, Regina Mogolola is not taking the opponents for granted.
“Every game is important to us and claiming maximum points is always our objective before every fixture. Although we regularly get the better of our visitors, they are never easy games. Every team that plays against us tend to showcase their best because they are battling against the champions. Yes we beat them at the start of the season, but they have improved significantly since that loss. They are a formidable opponent, and we are not going to rest on the good record we have against them,” the defender stated.
Ma-Indies have enjoyed a dominant season and are placed sixth on the Hollywoodbets Super League standings. They have bagged 10 wins in 19 games and played out a 2-2 home draw against Vasco da Gama last time out.
The fixture between Mamelodi Sundowns and Ma-Indies Ladies will take place on Wednesday at Lucas Moripe Stadium. The kick-off time for the fixture is 15h00.
