Birmingham 2022: Dare Visits Team Nigeria Ahead Opening Ceremony

On Wednesday, Team Nigeria athletes received a visit from the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, at the Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 Games Village.

Dare congratulated some of the athletes that competed in the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, United States of America, along with Engineer Habu Gumel, President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), and Banji Oladapo, Secretary General.

“I am appealing to you all to stay hungry for success, disciplined and focused on doing our nation proud.

“Remember, our zero tolerance for doping or cutting corners.

” Let us win fairly and cleanly,” Dare said.

Ninety four athletes will represent Nigeria at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. It’s a stellar list of athletes from different sports, flying Naija’s flag at the Games.

Quadri Aruna (Table Tennis), Blessing Oborududu (Wrestling) and Tobi Amusan (Athletics) are all on the team.
