Team Nigeria and other African countries participated in the “Birmingham 2022”-themed Commonwealth Games opening ceremony at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
The African nations that participated in the formal opening ceremony are Botswana, Cameroon, Eswatini, the Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Nigeria Mozambique among others.
As usual, Nigeria added color and glamour to the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2022.
Birmingham was described as “a pioneering city representative of the great variety and togetherness of the Commonwealth” in a letter from Queen Elizabeth that Prince Charles read aloud.
Prince Charles, who was the opening ceremony’s primary guest, also attended.
