Chelsea have poured millions into remodeling their attack as Noni Madueke, Mykahilo Mudryk and Joao Felix arrived at Stamford Bridge in January. With CFC still looking to spend in order to strengthen the other areas, the club will have to offload players to balance the heavy spending. Hakim Ziyech is a player who could depart from London.

Chelsea have gone onto spend £190 million in the winter transfer window alone and they aren’t showing any signs of stopping as Moises Caicedo remains a target that they want to sign before the end of January. With the arrival of Mudryk, Madueke and Felix, Chelsea now have diverse and abundant options on the flanks.

Graham Potter is now spoilt for choices when it comes to deploying wingers as he can choose from Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic, Madueke, Mudryk and Ziyech. If needed, even Felix can start from the left flank though he is not a traditional winger. With the new arrivals, Ziyech could see a drastic reduction in playing time.

The Moroccan was already a rotational option since the start of the season, making just five Premier League appearances prior to the FIFA World Cup. At the World Cup, magic happened and Ziyech was one of the drivers of Morocco’s venturesome journey. Injuries to Sterling and Pulisic saw the 29 year old jump into the first team dynamics. Ziyech has been impressive but he remains a player that CFC are willing to sell.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues will discuss bids for the Moroccan as a number of clubs remain keen on the 29 year old. Not only Premier League clubs but also some European clubs are exploring the conditions of a possible deal.

Ziyech has already been linked to a host of clubs. Barcelona, AS Roma, Everton and Newcastle United are some of the teams that are keeping tabs on Ziyech’s situation. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out at Chelsea the way Ziyech would have hoped but he still has a lot of suitors and attractive propositions will on the table.

Ziyech’s sale will also open up a non-homegrown player spot in the Champions League squad. A team is allowed to have 17 non-homegrown players in the Champions League squad and in order to register Felix, Mudryk and Madueke, CFC will need to remove two players from their current list.

His departure will also help CFC balance the accounts as there are indications that Chelsea are running the risk of spending over the limit and could violate FFP regulations if money doesn’t come in.

Where should Hakim Ziyech go?
