Borussia Dortmund chief opens up on Erling Haaland to Man City and Jude Bellingham’s future

Haaland joined the Blues in the summer transfer window from the Bundesliga side and has started magnificently at his new club. His 12 goals in eight appearances have helped City move to second place in the Premier League table.

Plenty of talk in the summer surrounded Haaland's move to the Etihad. However, according to Kehl, the player was never a burden and was a mdoel of professionalism.

Speaking to BT Sport, Kehl said: “Erling was not the burden, the topic was the burden, thats what I wanted to say. Erling was very very professional till his last game, last day in Dortmund.

“He knew we, Borussia Dortmund, helped him to grow, to be here now. In the last few months because of his exit clause it was a topic, a topic for us every day but it was not Erling.”

Dortmund has proved to be a breeding ground for brilliant talent and the next player likely to seek a move away from Signal Iduna Park is Jude Bellingham. The former Birmingham City man has caught the eye in Germany, but Kehl believes that he is not looking for a move away any time soon.

“Jude is very happy at the club, he is very committed to us,” he added. “Hopefully he can stay over next season and for a long time.
