Onana only arrived at Goodison Park in a 33million deal last summer, and they are thought to have seen the 22-year-old as a chance to make a &apostidy profit&apos amid financial concerns at the club. Reports suggested that Everton wanted to double their money, with around 60m quoted.
Elsewhere, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that United and Liverpool are both eyeing a move for another Belgian midfielder, Royal Antwerp&aposs Arthur Vermeeren.
The 18-year-old enjoyed his breakthrough into senior football last season, making 20 appearances for the Belgian side. He is already a regular feature in defensive midfield, playing all six of his side&aposs games so far this campaign.
United and Liverpool are among several European sides said to be eyeing a move for the teenager, with Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, Ajax, and RB Leipzig also named. The report adds that any suitors will likely need to pay between 15-20million.
