Former Man United star claims Tottenham star Harry Kane is not a centre-forward

United, who will be going in search of a seventh successive win in all competitions when they host Everton in the third round of the FA Cup on Friday evening, are looking to add to their pool of attacking options in this month&aposs transfer window. The Reds are short on options up front following Cristiano Ronaldo&aposs exit at the end of November.

United, as reported by the Manchester Evening News , are looking into the prospect of bringing in a temporary option on loan, with a view to investing in a long-term option in the summer. Barcelona ace Memphis Depay and Joao Felix of Atletico Madrid have been cited as possible options this month.

However, United, occasionally, do continue to get linked with the prospect of signing England captain Kane. The striker, who has scored 15 times in the Premier League this season, is out of contract in June 2024 and his future at Spurs remains a heavy talking point.

But although he would add an unrivalled level of goals to United&aposs ranks, Parker, who played for the club between 1991 and 1996, has pleaded with the Reds not to make a move for his signature, insisting that he would drop deep too often and not offer Erik ten Hag the outlet he needs up front.

“I would never want Harry Kane in Man United,” Parker told MyBettingSites. “Man United needs to sign a centre-forward and not a midfield player which is what Harry Kane is.

“It would be a totally pointless signing. All he would do at Man United would be to drop down to the midfield and play with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes.

“I saw the rumours on social media and some people wanted him to come, but if they really do that I don&apost believe that they have ever watched Harry Kane play. He is not a good focal point for a team and he played terribly for Tottenham against Aston Villa [on New Year&aposs Day] once again, so the answer is a very clear no. I don&apost want him at Man United.”
