Gary Lineker questions whether Manchester United are actually in a crisis

It was suggested pressure on Erik ten Hag was growing a couple of weeks ago after the Reds fell to back-to-back 3-0 defeats against Manchester City and Newcastle United. The week after, United lost to FC Copenhagen in dramatic fashion leaving a big dent in the club&aposs hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

However, there was room for optimism when the stat emerged regarding United&aposs current form in the top flight. With four wins out of five Premier League matches, Ten Hag&aposs men are the in-form side in the division.

Speaking on his podcast The Rest is Football, Lineker questioned whether things were really as bad as they seem at United. He explained: “Its interesting because we are all saying Manchester United are really struggling and in crisis etc. But, did you know they are the most in-form side in the Premier League with four wins in their last five? It kind-of sneaks up on you.”

His fellow podcast contributor Micah Richards claimed the Reds were not playing well at present but Lineker offered him the ultimatum of playing well and losing or playing badly and winning. Richards responded: “Thats a good question. You would rather get the points on the board, I understand that.
