The striker is yet to score in nine Premier League matches, although has scored five times in four Champions League games. He is the clubs current top scorer as a result and has impressed fans and pundits alike.
Hojlunds attributes have come as an injection of hope into a United side yet to find their full stride this season. Many have already noted the lack of service he is being offered so far, albeit do wish to see him hit the net in the league soon.
But his traits look promising and both Neville and Berbatov are hopeful that he can blossom as time rolls on. Speaking this month, Neville listed the qualities that make him excited about Hojlund.
He said: “I love Hojlund. Hojlund is a player that fits the United profile of player. He&aposs young, he&aposs got plenty of growth, he&aposs strong. I&aposd hate to play against him.
Hojlund has managed to find the net with both his head and feet since his arrival. The Dane does not turn 21 until February and early signs suggest he can be an important player in Erik ten Hags rebuild.
Berbatov had tracked the attacker&aposs game before he arrived at United and made his own prediction about Hojlunds future back in August.
Speaking to Betfair, he said: “Hojlund is aggressive, tall, quick, strong, can score with his left or right foot and is positionally intelligent. These are all good characteristics of a good striker who can become great. Hojlund has a lot of time ahead of him.
Ten Hag is pleased with his summer signing. He believes he has settled in well at Old Trafford and hailed his mentality this week.
“I think he [has integrated] very well,” he said. “He has scored already three goals in the Champions League, which is very good for an integration period.
