How Man United can sign Sofyan Amrabat after transfer window closes with deadline day loophole

The summer transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday evening and the Reds have already brought in three players on a busy day. Altay Bayindir, Sergio Reguilon and Jonny Evans have all signed deals at Old Trafford.

However, the signing most are looking out for is Amrabat. MEN Sport understands an 8.5m loan fee has been agreed with Fiorentina and the midfielder is currently undergoing the relevant tests before being officially announced.

While there is a hard deadline on when the transfer window closes for the summer, United are still able to complete deals beyond the cut-off thanks to a deal sheet rule.

The Manchester Evening News has taken a look at what this is and what it means for the Reds.

You will have heard about these time after time over the years and they are exactly what they say on the tin. For anyone pushing it late to get proposed moves across the line, they can submit a deal sheet – by 11pm or whenever their deadline is – to confirm they have reached an agreement with a club for any player.
