‘I’m worried’ – Paul Scholes makes brutal prediction about Manchester United in Champions League

United have an awful record in away games with Erik ten Hag in charge and it&aposs been suggested the current group of players cannot perform in raucous atmospheres after a string of embarrassing results last season.

Ten Hag&aposs side were comfortably defeated in away games against Liverpool, Newcastle and Sevilla, for example. United have the challenge of playing FC Copenhagen at the Parken Stadium on Wednesday night and that clash is a must-win game following defeats against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in the group stage.

But Scholes thinks United will struggle in Denmark and he predicted United would fail to progress from the group stage.

Theyre in big trouble, Scholes told TNT Sports. I always say in the Champions League, win your home games and try and get a draw or a win in an away game and you usually qualify.

The Galatasaray game is a big regret. You should never lose to a team like that at home. The way United were playing, confidence was low – it wasnt a big surprise.

They were very lucky at home against Copenhagen, they didnt play very well at all. They have half a chance of qualifying.

“Its so hard going to Copenhagen, these European away games are tough. If they make it a hostile atmosphere, you have to worry about the frailty of Manchester United – they could really crumble under that pressure.

Scholes was asked whether United would qualify from the group and said: If I was a betting man, Id say no. They showed last year theyre frail in away games – you think of Sevilla away. It was a brilliant atmosphere.
