Jamie Carragher credits Alejandro Garnacho’s ‘arrogance’ for incredible Manchester United goal

Garnacho stunned Goodison Park and indeed world football on Sunday when he pulled off an incredible bicycle kick to hand his team the lead inside three minutes. The goal instantly earned the 19-year-old comparisons with his idol Cristiano Ronaldo and United legend Wayne Rooney who scored a similar goal against Manchester City.

The teenager celebrated his sensational finish by performing the Ronaldo celebration by the corner flag and on Sky Sports&apos Monday Night Football, the panel discussed what mentality a player needs to pull off a goal like that. Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg began: “I think you need to have a certain mentality, almost like you are against the world and I dont care, I can do whatever I want.

“I think to have that mentality, that is why a lot of players wouldnt do that and that is why I said Rooneys (goal vs City) was better because millions of people are watching. In a game like this it is difficult.”
