Jermaine Jenas questions commitment of two Manchester United players during Newcastle defeat

Erik ten Hag&aposs side fell to their 10th defeat of the season and a third away-day Premier League loss against a top-half opponent at St James&apos Park. Anthony Gordon eventually opened the scoring on 55 minuted for Newcastle, tapping in Kieran Trippier&aposs cross from close range.

But the home side could have been ahead long before and United were far inferior on the night. Antony saw a goal disallowed after the ball hit an offside Harry Maguire but anything other than defeat would have been a lucky escape for the Reds.

RATINGS: Martial and Rashford poor in defeat vs Newcastle

Newcastle were particularly dominant in the first-half and were aided by Rashford and Martial upfront. Both were largely ineffective and Jenas believes they were sending a message to Ten Hag.

“I personally thought tonight that there were signs that a couple of players in there for me that either was not happy with the tactics put to them, or wasnt happy with their positions on the pitch,” Jeans told TNT Sports. “But the body language on the pitch tells you a lot at times, and there were a few of them that were sending a message to the manager, I think.
