Juventus’ ‘stance’ on Kalvin Phillips transfer and other Man City rumours

Calciomercato claims that Phillips has been offered to the Turin club to address their midfield crisis. But Juve&aposs executives are said to be unconvinced the Englishman is the answer to their problems.

The 27-year-old has so far made just six appearances so far this season, three of which came in the Premier League. Phillips has struggled to unseat Rodri as the Blues&apos first-choice defensive midfielder and he may wish to search for more playing time elsewhere with Euro 2024 on the horizon.

Meanwhile, City are claimed to have scouted Turkey youngster Emircan Gurluk on three occasions but the winger chose to move to Russian first-tier side Orenburg.

Gurluk is believed to have caught the eyes of City scouts last season while at Altinordu in Turkey. However, despite interest from the Blues, the 20-year-old decided his preferred destination was not the Etihad Stadium.

Explaining the conversations in the summer, Gurluk&aposs agent Ibrahim Isen explained: “Manchester City sent their scouts three times.

“Many teams were interested in him, for example Westerlo (in Belgium). First of all, we wanted Emircan to play and progress. After conversations with representatives of Orenburg, we decided that here Emircan will be able to prove himself here and achieve success.”

So far in Russia, Gurluk has appeared on 13 occasions scoring once and grabbing two assists from left-wing.
