Man City given fresh injury scare as Rodri misses Spain fixture amid worrying ‘discomfort’ reports

City lost three games out of three in September and October when Rodri was suspended, winning for the first time without the midfielder when he was rested against Young Boys recently. However, City will not be happy to see Rodri left out of Spain&aposs Euro 2024 qualifier against Cyprus on Thursday having already lost four players to injury this week.

Nathan Ake, Ederson, Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes have withdrawn from international duty with various injury or fitness issues, joining Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones and Sergio Gomez on the sidelines.

With Spain already qualified for Euro 2024, they must get equal or more points against Cyprus and Georgia this week than Scotland do against Georgia and Norway. And reports in Spain suggest that Rodri has not been risked with qualification secure and two favourable fixtures.

However, COPE report that Rodri reported a &aposdiscomfort&apos to medical staff this week, prompting his omission from their squad to face Cyprus on Thursday.
