Manchester United and Man City told it would be ‘stupid’ to launch bid for Jude Bellingham

That&aposs the assessment from Dortmund sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, who says the Bundesliga club have yet to receive an offer for the teenager. Bellingham, 19, was a shining light for his country at the recent World Cup and his signature remains hot property coming up three years on from his move to Signal Iduna Park.

United were in the race for Bellingham at that time and are tipped to come calling for him, once again, during the summer window amid an ongoing pursuit to sign Frenkie de Jong. City are also interested in Bellingham along with Liverpool FC and Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Bellingham is expected to command a nine-figure figure for his services. But his current club Dortmund will not let the Birmingham City graduate leave without a fight.

Speaking to Kicker via radio station talkSPORT, Dortmund sporting director Kelh said: “Jude has made an incredible development here at Dortmund. With the way he plays football, his fighting spirit and commitment, he has become a real Borussia player who identifies very much with BVB.

“I can&apost say if and when that [signing for another team] will be the case with Jude and, from a purely sporting point of view, I would be stupid to want to give up Jude Bellingham. We will talk with him, and his parents, in due course. There is currently no pressure.

“Jude wants to concentrate fully on football and, by the way, there are no offers at all.”
