Manchester United axe Jadon Sancho as Michail Antonio sends Harry Maguire transfer message

Jadon Sancho will not take part in team training until further notice due to a &apossquad discipline issue&apos, the club said in a statement on Thursday afternoon.

Sancho returned to United&aposs Carrington training complex at around 12.30pm on Monday, where he was widely expected to hold talks with Erik ten Hag over the public disagreement the pair had following the loss to Arsenal prior to the international break.

Ten Hag said Sancho was omitted from United&aposs squad for the trip to the Emirates Stadium due to his poor form in training, and Sancho swiftly responded on social media, saying he would not be made a &aposscapegoat&apos.

Antonio on Maguire

West Ham striker Michael Antonio believes Harry Maguire should have left United this summer in order to get a clean slate.

Maguire has been in the headlines again during the international break after being abused and jeered during England&aposs 3-1 friendly win over Scotland on Tuesday. The 30-year-old came off the bench at Hampden Park and was unfortunate to score an own-goal, with the home crowd sarcastically cheering when he completed a pass.

After the result, Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate branded the attitude towards Maguire as a &aposjoke&apos, blaming portions of the media for the vitriol suffered. On Tuesday morning, the defender&aposs mother his back at the abuse her son has received.

Maguire looked set to join West Ham during the summer transfer window, with United accepting a 30million from the Hammers. However that deal fell through, with club and player unable to find a pay-off arrangement.
