Manchester United give team news vs Arsenal and Jadon Sancho update

Dalot missed the win over Manchester City and draw with Crystal Palace due to a muscular injury while Martial was forced off at half-time against City and was also absent at Selhurst Park.

United bizarrely held their pre-match press conference at Palace even though there was a four-day gap between their Premier League fixtures, citing a day off for the squad on Friday.

Ten Hag was unsurprisingly vague when asked whether Dalot and Martial could be available 90 hours before kick-off: “No but of course, it is Wednesday and we have to see if they are fit for a game Sunday.”

The United manager also did not give a deadline on Sancho&aposs return as he approaches three months since he last played for the club. “I cant answer that question. He is making the next step and because it is true, yesterday was the first time in the team training.

“But I think training was a final training before a game, so we will extend that in the coming days and weeks and then go step by step.”

Sancho last appeared for United in their 1-1 draw at Chelsea on October 22 and has since taken a break from social media and travelled to the Netherlands for a curated training programme.

Ten Hag confirmed to journalists last month Sancho was absent from United&aposs training squad in Spain as he was not fit enough and there was a mental aspect to also consider.

A London-based reporter asked Ten Hag an identical question to what a colleague from the same outlet had asked him at Carrington about whether United would make any more signings in January.

Ten Hag offered an identical response. “I think as Manchester United you always have to look for solutions and always you have to look for better and that is what we will do.
