Van de Beek came off in added time of the first half after his leg buckled under a challenge by Marcos Senesi and he missed both cup wins over Everton and Charlton.

“Both: I can&apost tell that much,” Erik ten Hag said. “We have seen Diogo come off but it was a precaution and we have to see how it develops in the coming hours and make a clear decision.

“Donny, we are doing some final investigations and then when we have that we will update you.”

Ten Hag also clarified Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial, absent from the squad against Charlton, had both been rested.

Marcus Rashford came on to score in his eighth consecutive United home game and his two goals in added-time takes his tally up to seven goals in the last six games.

Rashford is now on 15 goals for the season, three times as many as he finished with last term, as he prepares for the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on Saturday.

“I think I have told you many times, when he brings himself into position in the one-on-ones, in the box, he will score, that is what he is doing in this moment,” Ten Hag reiterated. “If he keeps the focus and puts the same effort in then he will continue scoring.”
