Manchester United ‘identify Monaco duo as transfer targets’ and more rumours

Give Me Sport claims the duo have been tracked by United, although a January move is unlikely. Erik ten Hag is looking to strengthen in four key areas next summer, including at full-back and in midfield.

Right-back Vanderson has two caps for Brazil and is emerging as a promising South American talent, who has caught the eye from those in France and beyond. The 22-year-old has been used as a wing-back at high-flying Monaco this season and played every game this term up until his knee injury.

Vanderson has not played since September due to the setback and has consequently been left out of the Brazil squad for this months fixtures, although returned to the bench for his club just before the international break.

Meanwhile, Fofana has played in every Monaco game this season, even sometimes wearing the armband. He has been instrumental in seeing his side sit third, three points off top spot, in Ligue 1.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has provided three assists in 12 matches but is hailed more for his work going the other way. Fofana has 14 caps for France, the most recent of which came in Saturdays 14-0 mauling of Gibraltar when he netted his maiden international strike.

Meanwhile, Football Insider claims United are hoping to reap a fee for Jadon Sancho in January. It is expected, though, that the winger will leave on loan in the new year with clubs tighter for cash during the mid-season window.
