Manchester United ‘interested’ in Real Betis ace Luiz Henrique and more transfer rumours

According to Spanish news outlet ABC Sevilla, both United and Arsenal are keen on the winger, who has registered three goals and five assists in 22 appearances for Betis so far this season. He has impressed since arriving from Fluminense in the summer transfer window, and is under contract until 2028.

The report claims that both Premier League sides have sent scouts to watch the attacker in action this season. Henrique grabbed two assists in Betis&apos penalty shootout defeat to Barcelona in the Supercopa in midweek, with the Catalan outfit winning 6-4 on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

The Brazilian attacker, who has been capped up to U20 level, typically operates from the right wing. He is unlikely to move on from the La Liga outfit this month having only joined in the summer. Moreover, with the Reds having added striker Wout Weghorst to their ranks this month, Erik ten Hag is now expected to stick with his current attacking options.

Elsewhere, journalist Cesar Luis Merlo has reported that United have held a meeting with Facundo Pellistri&aposs agent to make it clear that they want to keep the winger at Old Trafford, despite reports linking him with a loan move.

Pellistri – who arrived at Old Trafford from Penarol in the summer of 2020 – made his first senior appearance for United in the Carabao Cup victory over Charlton Athletic in midweek. The attacker come off the bench for the final few minutes, but made an immediate impact with an assist for Marcus Rashford.

Merlo claims that Valencia, Flamengo and other clubs are interested in taking Pellistri on loan for the rest of the season, but that the Reds are keen to keep him at the club. He also adds that fresh talks are planned for next week.

Prior to the World Cup in Qatar, Pellistri&aposs agent admitted that his client could look for a transfer away from Old Trafford in search of regular game time. The player featured on three occasions in the Middle East and impressed when on the pitch.
