Manchester United know what to do to open the door for Harry Kane transfer – Casey Evans

Victor Osimhen and Goncalo Ramos are on the radar but one name that doesn&apost seem to go away is Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane. The attacker has been linked with a move multiple times over the past few years as his side have failed to win a trophy.

Kane&aposs contract expires at the end of 2024 and with no new contract on the horizon it is likely Spurs will look to cash in on him in summer to secure a fee for the forward.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator however, and despite Kane&aposs age and contract situation he will likely still demand a sizeable fee for the striker. So United will need to be in the best position possible if they want to secure a deal.

To do that, it will be best if United qualify for the Champions League while Tottenham miss out.

Erik ten Hag has already made good progress in the former. United sit fourth on goal difference one point behind Manchester City; Tottenham sits fifth, five points behind and with one more game played.

However Tottenham finishing outside the Champions League spots is not completely in their hands, they need the other teams to play their part. Newcastle are playing incredibly well but the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea are trailing behind; the latter has invested heavily in January however.

Kane would be a Premier League proven option upfront who has a track record of scoring regularly, but there are still question marks over his injury record and also whether United would be better served in going for a younger option.

Kane would also likely still command a fee of at least 60m while asking for a considerable wage packet. In this regard it may be better to move for the likes of Osimhen or Ramos who would provide a better return on investment.

There is still a lot of football to be played between now and the end of the season, but there is a real risk of Spurs failing to make the grade under Antonio Conte which could give United an exciting transfer option going into the summer.
