Manchester United players respond to fans’ banner vs Fulham

United headed into the clash at Craven Cottage needing three points after a difficult week on the pitch. Last Sunday, Erik ten Hag&aposs side were comfortably beaten by Manchester City at Old Trafford and followed the result up with a similar battering against Newcastle.

While the performance was by no means exceptional against Fulham, the Reds managed to win the game in stoppage time thanks to Bruno Fernandes&apos strike which sent the away end into delirium. After the match, McTominay was quizzed by TNT Sports about the banner and admitted he and his teammates saw it pre-match.

“We saw it, we saw the banner before the game,” McTominay explained. “A few of us said: &aposYou know what, the fans pay good money to watch us every single week and the support is relentless towards us every single week and we just want to repay them as best we can.&apos

“Things are not going the best at the moment but like you say it&aposs a building block, step-by-step and with the manager and the coaching staff we trust them a lot, we trust the players and I feel like we can go on, kick on and do better.”

The result at Craven Cottage has lifted United, at least temporarily, to sixth in the Premier League table, five points behind fourth-place Liverpool who hold a game in hand over them.
