Manchester United ‘postpone Jean-Clair Todibo interest’ and other transfer rumours

Erik ten Hag wanted to strengthen his central defensive options in the summer but was unable to do so as Harry Maguire refused a move to West Ham United. Since then, the England international has regrouped and become a starter for the Reds but Raphael Varane&aposs future seems in doubt with Jonny Evans currently preferred to him.

One option which is thought to be on the table for United is attempting to sign Todibo. The 23-year-old is a mainstay at the Sir Jim Ratcliffe-owned club and is earning admirers far and wide thanks to his performances.

According to TEAMtalk, United want to make a big money addition to their backline but such a deal in January is deemed practically impossible. The decision to wait could be a risk for the Reds with a major international tournament at the end of the campaign.

Todibo only has a solitary cap for France at present but if he performs well at Euro 2024 he could see his price tag skyrocket in the summer. Elsewhere, Calciomercatoweb understands Inter Milan are interested in signing Anthony Martial in January.

The Serie A giants are looking to replace Marko Arnautovic this winter and see Martial as the perfect alternative. United&aposs French forward has yet to score in the Premier League this season and funds from his departure could be used to find the Reds a striker they desperately need.
