Van de Beek&aposs time at Old Trafford has been littered in disappointment after being signed from Ajax to much fanfare in 2020. The 26-year-old has failed to nail down a position in the United squad since arriving and has made just 60 appearances for the Reds.
Hopes were high that Van de Beek would rediscover his Amsterdam form when Erik ten Hag arrived but after a serious injury last season, this option looks to have gone. Having not left before the end of English football&aposs transfer deadline, ESPN reports United are still keen to find a new club for the midfielder but now face a &aposrace against time&apos to offload him
The Manchester Evening News understands United are waiting on Fenerbahce and Galatasaray to potentially make a move before Turkey&aposs deadline on September 15. Both clubs have shown an interest in the Dutchman this summer, but a departure isn&apost seen as definite.
The midfielder has not been named in United&aposs 25-man squad for the Champions League this season and could be omitted from their Premier League squad as well. Galatasaray signed midfielder Tanguy Ndombele on loan from Tottenham and that could affect their move for the United midfielder, while the Reds have had a fruitful relationship this summer with Fred and Altay Bayindir heading in opposite directions.
Elsewhere, the Reds reportedly managed to fend off interest from Barcelona to sign Sofyan Amrabat on deadline day. According to Sport, Barca saw Amrabat as a replacement for Sergio Busquets despite having signed Ilkay Gundogan in the summer.
