Marcus Thuram could tick more than one box for Manchester United in January transfer

United&aposs current top scorer in the Premier League is Marcus Rashford and though it looks like he will add to his tally in the second half of the season, the club needs more firepower.

Ten Hag has stated that the club are in the market for a forward. He told the media: “Yes but only when we find the right player. We do everything that is in our power, so I do research on every opportunity that comes. We do everything we can if that opportunity will be there.”

The issue is United are not flushed with cash to operate in the January transfer window. Multiple reports have linked the club with a move for Joao Felix (on loan), Memphis Depay and Youssoufa Moukoko to the tune of around 15m.

Marcus Thuram has also been linked with a move, and in many ways he ticks all the boxes for United. Thuram is 25 years old, meaning he can play a part in the squad for years to come either as a starting player or as part of the greater squad. With only six months left on his contract, he would be available for a cut-price fee as well.

The Borussia Monchengladbach has been in great form for his club so far this season, scoring 10 goals and registering three assists in 15 Bundesliga games. This form saw him called up to the French national team for the World Cup.

Playing through the middle he would offer United the goals they need to cement their place for the top four and even push for the title if Arsenal slip later in the season, though a shot at first place seems unlikely.
