According to transfer insider Dean Jones, speaking to GiveMeSport, United could potentially make a summer move for the 24-year-old, with Erik ten Hag keen on signing a young midfielder at the end of the season. Mount, who is out of contract at the end of next season, is also thought to be a target for Liverpool and Manchester City.
It has also been reported that there has been little progress over an extension to his current deal in recent months, with Mount said to be reluctant to sign a long-term deal with the Blues, as per ESPN. The report states that the England international is looking for a significant increase in his existing wage, which is thought to be around 80,000-a-week.
“He&aposs definitely appreciated by people within United, so it is interesting,” said Jones. “I think they&aposve still got uncertainty about whether he&aposs truly going to become available, though, at the end of the season. Chelsea are in a state of flux, at the moment.”
Elsewhere, The Sun report that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a summer move for on-loan United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Henderson has been outstanding for Nottingham Forest this season, featuring 18 times before an injury in mid-January which has kept him sidelined since. The 25-year-old joined Steve Cooper&aposs side on loan last summer, venting his frustration at United for keeping him last season and not giving him regular game-time.
Spurs are said to see Henderson as a long-term successor to Hugo Lloris. The report adds that United are almost certain to sell the shot-stopper.
