Back in January City agreed a deal to sign Argentine hit-man Julian Alvarez from River Plate – if anyone had forgotten about that, they've surely remembered now.
On Wednesday night Alvarez scored six goals in River Plate's 8-1 demolition of Peruvian side Alianza Lima in a Copa Libertadores group game.
Alvarez scored a hat-trick in each half, but what was even more impressive than the quantity of goals was the variety of the strikes.
Among some well-taken close-range finishes were a thunderbolt from the edge of the area, a tap-in that came about from Alvarez pressuring the goalkeeper and a cheeky first-time chip.
Haaland might be the big signing of the summer, but City fans on Twitter are certainly excited about the man City signed for under 20m.
