News From Manchester: Charlie Savage responds to Alejandro Garnacho message to Manchester United fans

Savage was named on the bench for the clubs 1-0 final day loss to Crystal Palace but failed to get on the pitch. It means he continues to wait for a Premier League debut after coming on as a late substitute in Uniteds Champions League group stage game against Young Boys in December.

On Sunday, he watched academy teammate Garnacho enjoy 11 minutes of action in his second senior outing. The Under-18s player of the season lifted the FA Youth Cup earlier this month after firing two past Nottingham Forest in front of a near-capacity Old Trafford crowd.

This came after Garnacho was handed his United first team debut against Chelsea last month, coming on for a late cameo in the 1-1 draw at the Theatre of Dreams. It marks a fantastic season for the 17-year-old, who will be hoping Erik ten Hag has taken notice.

On Monday, the Argentine teenager posted a message on Instagram, sharing his delight after a memorable year. He said: If at the beginning of the season, you tell me everything that has happened to mea season to remember. Thanks Manchester United.

Savage, 19, responded to the post with a simple vamos comment, which means lets go in Spanish. He was joined by several other academy prospects in reacting to Garnachos message.
