News From Manchester: Ex-Bolton Wanderers defender Liam Gordon’s first words after sealing transfer to League Two club

The 23-year-old departs the Whites this summer after it was confirmed in the club's retained list that he will become a free agent when his two-year contract expires at the end of June. The left-back played a total of 36 times during his spell at the Unviersity of Bolton Stadium.

In the season which has recently concluded, Gordon made 21 appearances at a full-back and a wing-back. He operated on both the right and left flanks.

Gordon has been quick to find himself a new club following his release by Ian Evatt's side. He has signed for Walsall and put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Saddlers.

Im delighted, Gordon told the club website. Ive been speaking to the head coach and I know what his expectations are, what he wants from me and Im excited for the clubs future and his plans for the club going forward.

I spoke to the gaffer about his formation and that completely suits me.

Im an attacking left-back, I like to get forward, I like to contribute with goals and assists but Ive got to help with the defensive side as well. Im definitely looking forward to the new challenge.
