News From Manchester: Manchester United fans delighted with Erik ten Hag’s hint on Donny van de Beek

Ten Hag was announced as the club's new manager last month and he met the media for the first time yesterday. During the conference, the Dutchman was asked about whether he was looking forward to working with Van de Beek next season.

He responded: “Yes of course, we had a fantastic squad at that time in Ajax. I have a really good relationship with him and I am looking forward to meeting him again on the pitch.”

Van de Beek has failed to make the impact at United he would have wanted since arriving in 2020. The 25-year-old has often been overlooked in favour of other players which led to him moving on loan to Everton in January.

Despite getting more game time at the Merseyside club during the first month of his spell, a thigh issue meant that he missed out on vast amounts of the second half of the season. Van de Beek did return for Sunday's last game of the campaign and scored in the Toffees' 5-1 defeat to Arsenal.

United fans believe that Ten Hag's comments offer a glimpse to a bright future for Van de Beek. Here is what they had to say on Twitter.
