Norway provide fresh injury update on Man City striker Erling Haaland

Haaland went down in some discomfort after suffering an ankle complaint. After receiving treatment, the forward finished the game but there were concerns about his fitness.

On Friday afternoon, the Norwegian FA&aposs medical department confirmed Haaland would be travelling to Scotland with a view to potentially featuring in what is a big clash for his nation. However, their team doctor Ola Sand has confirmed he will not play in the game.

In an update released on Saturday morning, Sand said: “The injury is not serious, but he is in so much pain and somewhat restricted function that the Scotland game unfortunately comes a little too early.”

This is a worrying development for Pep Guardiola after an international break nightmare on the injury front. Ederson, Rodri and Matheus Nunes among the six players to have suffered complaints this week and are now doubts for next Saturday&aposs big Premier League clash with Liverpool.

One crumb of comfort for City is that Haaland&aposs issue does not appear to be too serious. It is unclear at this stage whether Haaland will return immediately to Manchester to receive further treatment or if he will remain with the Norway squad as they prepare for Sunday&aposs clash at Hampden Park. Guardiola is not alone with injury worries this week though.

Jurgen Klopp is also sweating on the fitness of several key players for the trip to City and already knows he will be without Andy Robertson.
