The iconic United manager left back in 2013. The Glazers have spent more than 1billion on signings in the decade since but the club have often missed out on signing their top targets.

Most recently, Erik ten Hag had earmarked Harry Kane as the prime target to fill the gap at No.9 but Tottenham were able to resist approaches from a Premier League rival. The England international eventually joined Bayern Munich, while United signed Rasmus Hojlund for 72million.

Meulensteen was part of Ferguson&aposs coaching staff for the final six years of his reign at United, having previously spent time as coach of United&aposs reserves. And the Dutchman admits that while money has been spent, Ten Hag isn&apost the only manager to not get the players he wanted.

We never felt any kind of influence on us on a daily basis, Meulensteen told The Guardian of his time working under the Glazers. I doubt theres any influence now because the Glazers are 4,000 miles away.
