Update on Bolton Wanderers striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson ahead of MK Dons & Peterborough United

The Iceland international has been sidelined of late due to a hamstring problem. He last featured for the Whites in the loss to Sheffield Wednesday last month.

The 30-year-old has now returned to full training and, though the trip to MK Dons tomorrow will come too soon for him, he will be back in contention for the visit of Posh this Saturday. Tomorrow's trip follows a free weekend after football was postponed as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Evatt had planned to make several changes for the cancelled trip to Cheltenham Town this last Saturday and is planning more for the clash against the Dons. The Whites put their free Saturday to good use with training as he revealed Wanderers had not set off for the West Country when it was confirmed the weekend's action would be axed.

He said: Jon is back. Its maybe too soon for him for Tuesday, but certainly for the weekend hell be fine. Everyone else is okay.

I think what team I would have picked on Saturday will be completely different to the team I pick tomorrow night. Thats just football and obviously the circumstances that we find ourselves in is unprecedented so unfortunately for some of the lads that would have played on Saturday, its a missed opportunity but there will be others coming along pretty quickly.

Weve got a great squad of players. We were able to play 11 v 11 on Saturday in a really intense training session which enabled us to get some work into the players and then we prepared for tomorrow night.

We hadnt set off yet. We prepared normally on Friday morning until probably the last 10 minutes of training and Richard Cooper came out to say the game was off. We would have been ready either way.

We havent got an opinion on whether that was right or wrong. A game being off is fine, well pay our respect that way, but it would have been nice to pay our respects publicly to someone who has represented our country so well.

The plan was to make five or six changes to the team that was due to play on Saturday but that didnt materialise, so we will attack this game fresh with the best team that I think can get a result at MK and then Saturday will be different again.”
