The German national team is awaiting a penalty from the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) in the coming hours.
FIFA issued an official statement today, Monday, in which it confirmed that the Disciplinary Committee decided to open an investigation into the procedures followed by the German Football Association regarding the absence of the Manchaft players from the press conference before the Spain match.
Germany’s players were absent from the press conference introducing the Spain match, in the second round of Group E in the World Cup currently being held in Qatar.
Coach Hans Flick, coach of the Germany national team, justified the players’ absence from the press conference by imposing a state of focus before the Spain match.
FIFA confirmed that the absence of the players from the press conference is a possible violation of Article 44 of the 2022 World Cup regulations, along with Article 2.7.2 of the Media and Marketing Regulations.
