Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani could make his debut for the French national team on Thursday. Speaking in a press conference ahead of their UEFA Nations League game against Austria, the 23-year-old commented on his reward for an impressive start to his SGE career.
“I didn’t expect this selection at all. It’s a nice surprise,” said Kolo Muani. “The feeling of being with the national team is more overwhelming, stronger than in the Champions League. Here we have a nation behind us. We represent a country. We have two stars on the jersey, it’s more than a dream.”
Joining Eintracht Frankfurt from Nantes on a free transfer in the summer, Kolo Muani has scored two and created four in seven Bundesliga games, a goal contribution every 88.5 minutes.
Speaking on his call-up, SGE head coach Oliver Glasner said: “I congratulated Randal Kolo Muani on his call-up to his national team. He was beaming from ear to ear.”
