Bild reports that Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is a target at Eintracht Frankfurt to fill their striker problem in the winter.
Mateta is currently under contract at Palace until 2026. The Premier League side is expected to want around €10m for the 26-year-old, who has fallen out of favour at the club and has become dissatisfied with his lack of playing time.
The Frenchman has Bundesliga experience playing for Frankfurt’s neighbours Mainz from 2018 to 2022.
Frankfurt still want to bring in at least two strikers in the winter and Sky Germany reports that the Bundesliga side are close to agreeing to a deal with Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi who will likely join for €7-8m and sign a contract at the club until 2028.
Other striking options such as Gift Orban and Fotis Ioannidis are not topics at Frankfurt.
The signing of two strikers will boost Frankfurt’s attacking options with their only current player who can play as a striker in the senior squad being Omar Marmoush.
