Villarreal have signed Jose Luis Morales on a contract that will run until the summer of 2024 according to a club statement. The forward has already passed his medical and will be presented soon. He’ll be available to partake in the Yellow Submarine’s pre-season.
Morales is a player with immense experience in Spanish football. He’s played seven campaigns in La Liga in total, all of them with his previous club, Levante. He’s scored a total of 63 goals in 254 games. Last season, a season in which Levante were relegated to Segunda, he scored 13 La Liga goals. He played in 36 of their 38 games.
Villarreal will hope that his attacking threat can offer them something different in the final third. They finished seventh in La Liga last season, far below what their ability would demand, although they did make it to the semi-final of the Champions League only to lose to Liverpool. They’ll be competing in the Europa Conference League in 2022/23.
