Ghana forward Caleb Ekuban shines in Genoa’s 4-1 win against Lazio

Ghana international, Caleb Ekuban displayed impressive form on Wednesday when his Genoa side hammered Lazio 4-1 in a pre-season friendly match.

The two Italian clubs yesterday locked horns in a warm-up exercise as part of preparations for the start of the 2022/23 football season.

During the exercise, Caleb Ekuban who started for Genoa put in a good shift that caught the eye of many.

He worked his socks off throughout the over 60 minutes he lasted in the game and contributed massively to help his club to win the match.

On the matchday, Massimo Coda scored to open the scoring for Genoa after just five minutes into the first half.

Ten minutes later, Ciro Immobile equalised to restore parity for Lazio. However, courtesy of two additional goals from Massimo Coda in the 18th and 52 minutes, the team opened a two-goal gap.

Subsequently, Albert Guðmundsson converted a spot-kick to seal a 4-1 win for Genoa.

Ekuban on the day lasted 61 minutes before his place was taken by countryman Kelvin Yeboah.
