How to watch Manchester United vs Brighton – TV channel, live stream, odds and early team news

United, who were beaten 4-0 by Brighton in their most recent meeting back in May, will be determined to hit the ground running at the start of the campaign and get the Ten Hag era off to a flyer. The Dutchman, appointed as manager back in April, watched his side register three wins, two draws and a defeat from their six pre-season friendlies, meaning his side are fully prepared for the curtain raiser.

United, however, will enter the clash with Graham Potter's side without a win in three matches, with all three of their friendly victories having come in their opening three pre-season assignments. Nevertheless, pre-season featured plenty of positives for Ten Hag.

But pre-season counts for little once the competitive action gets underway, meaning Ten Hag will be looking to mark his first competitive game in charge with a victory. United won on the opening day last season and will be hoping history can repeat itself.

Ahead of the big kick-off, here is everything that you need to know about Brighton's visit to M16:

The showdown at Old Trafford will be screened live on Sky Sports, appearing on both their Main Event and Premier League channels. The first of two games on 'Super Sunday', the contest in M16 will get underway at 2pm.

The coverage, however, will begin a whole hour earlier at 1pm on the Premier League channel. The coverage on Main Event will not start until kick-off at 2pm.

If you are not a Sky Sports customer, you can watch the game by purchasing a NOW TV pass. You can buy one for a 24-hour period, meaning you can buy one for United's season opener, as opposed to subscribing for a full month.

Neither club, however, will broadcast the game live. The Manchester Evening News will have unrivalled coverage.

Speaking to the press on Friday, Ten Hag confirmed that he would be without Anthony Martial for the visit of the Seagulls. Considering he scored three times in pre-season, his absence is a huge blow for the Reds.

It remains to be seen if Cristiano Ronaldo will replace him given his lack of minutes in pre-season and ongoing speculation about his future. United are not believed to be nursing any other injury issues.
