A quickfire double in the first half from Luca Barrington and Rico Lewis put City on their way, with the icing on the cake coming from Joel Ndala's late effort.
It meant it was a dream start for Ben Wilkinson's tenure as lead coach of the U18 side, laying down a statement of intent for the upcoming campaign.
Dire Mebude almost gave City the lead inside the opening seconds and proved to be instrumental for the opener, which came shortly after the half-hour mark, as he squared for Barrington at the far post.
Just three minutes later, Lewis created a pocket of space on the right side of the box and smashed in at the near post to put City in cruise control.
The third goal wouldn't come until the 77th minute though, with Ndala finding the back of the net shortly after his introduction off the bench.
City are among six sides in the north side of the division to secure opening day victories, along with Wolves, Leeds United, Liverpool, Derby County and Burnley.
