Latest Football News From Manchester: Manchester United 21-man squad vs Atletico Madrid confirmed as Benjamin Sesko transfer possible

Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of the Manchester United squad to face Atletico Madrid in Oslo on Saturday, but the wantaway forward has confirmed he will feature against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag has named a 21-man squad to face Atletico in a pre-season friendly in Norway and it is expected his strongest side and the team that will resemble the starting XI to face Brighton next weekend will contest that game.

United then face Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford a day later, in what is Ten Hag's first home game, and some of those not involved in the Oslo fixture could feature then.

Manchester United football director John Murtough met the agent of RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko last week.

It is understood Murtough rendezvoused with Sesko's agent, Elvis Basanovic, last Wednesday to gauge the possibility of a transfer.

Sesko, 19, scored the winner in Salzburg's friendly victory over Liverpool on Wednesday and Basanovic is attempting to whip up a market for the Slovenia international. Sesko is contracted to Salzburg until 2026.
