THE KINGS takes a look at the biggest transfer news and rumours involving Arsenal
Arsenal have been looking to bolster their midfield all year, to help in their bid for the league title. As per earlier reports, one of their top targets is Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić.
Now Il Messaggero (via Fichajes) reports that Lazio are ready to sell the Serbian powerhouse as they feel his mind is no longer in Rome. However, the report states that they will not accept any offer less than €100m, despite his contract expiring next year.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal want to sign Barcelona defender Eric García in this window to add depth to their backline.
However, the report states that, García is only focused on Barcelona whom he has a contract with till 2026.
According to Media Foot, Arsenal have inquired to Real Madrid regarding a move for outcast winger Eden Hazard this winter.
Hazard has failed to replicate his performances for Chelsea at Real Madrid and the club have moved on from him. He is looking for new pastures to reinvigorate himself, and Arsenal could be a surprise location for him to revamp.
According to Fichajes, Arsenal are hell-bent on signing Barcelona starlet Alejandro Balde next summer to further improve their left wing.
Balde’s contract expires in 2024, with Barcelona wanting to renew the defender till 2027. However, the report states that attraction from other clubs is making the Catalans nervous of losing him.
Ukrainian publication Sport Arena has reported that Arsenal are inching closer to secure the services of Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Shakthar Donetsk were previously asking for a price of £100m for their electrifying winger but have now accepted whatever terms the Gunners are offering.
The London based club have suggested that 30%of the fees will be in bonuses, while the Miners want the amount to be 20%. And as soon as the two teams come to a conclusion about the payment structure, Mudryk could join Arsenal.
According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal’s transfer target Dusan Vlahovic is eager to join the current Premier League leaders.
The Serbian striker joined Juventus last January but has failed to make an impression in Turin.
With Gunners competing for multiple strikers across Europe, Vlahovic could be an interesting signing to replace the injured Gabriel Jesus.
With Arsenal galloping towards the Premier League title and Juventus suffering from financial problems, Vlahovic has shown keen interest in a transfer to the Emirates.
According to Calciomercatoweb, Arsenal along with fierce local rivals Chelsea are the favourites to land Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka.
Ndicka’s contract expires at the end of this season and is seen by many (including Arsenal) as a great option to sign as a free agent.
Italian news publication Correire dello Sport has conveyed that Arsenal are mulling over a swoop of transfer target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio.
The Gunners have identified Milinkovic-Savic as the replacement of Youri Tielemans, with the latter’s possibility of joining Arsenal fading away.
The report suggests that Arsenal have already made contacts with the Serbian’s entourage to discuss a possible transfer.
The veteran midfielder’s transfer from Lazio is ‘highly likely’ and the Gunner could capitalize this opportunity to sign him.
Aston Villa’s boss Unai Emery is looking to sign former employee Mohamed Elneny from Arsenal, according to Sunday Mirror (via HITC). The Egyptian midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal, and could push for a move away from the Emirates.
The Gunners are prepared to let-go off Elneny for a fee in the region of £6m with his contract with the club expiring at the end of the season.
Arsenal want to sign a forward and are keeping tabs on Roma striker Tammy Abraham, according to La Repubblica (h/t Voce Giallo Rossa).
The former Chelsea man hasn’t been in great goalscoring form this term, scoring just 3 goals in 16 Serie A appearances. He is on Manchester United’s radar, too.
Arsenal are certain that they will complete the signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk this month, even though negotiations with Shakhtar Donetsk have proved to be tough.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive Substack column for CaughtOffside, where he further claims that there are no deadlines in the negotiations.
“Of course Arsenal are confident, and Arteta too,” Romano stated.
“But reaching an agreement with Shakhtar is crucial, they were so strong in negotiations also in August when they turned down €30m from Everton when it sounded like a great bid. No deadlines have been mentioned in the negotiations, as of now; talks continue.”
According to a report in The Daily Mail, Mikel Arteta is desperate to bolster his options in attack, and is keen to add both Mykhaylo Mudryk and Joao Felix to his squad as he attempts to consolidate the club’s push for the Premier League title.
Atletico Madrid want £13 million up front loan fee, with additional costs taking the short-term deal to £16 million, which is fending off most suitors. Arsenal are hoping to negotiate a reduced price for Felix, who is also attracting interest from Manchester United.
Arsenal have reportedly joined Manchester City the race to sign 19-year-old PAOK wonderkid Giannis Konstantelias.
That’s according to a Standard Sport report, which claims the Gunners are set to send scouts to watch the talented teenager during January.Konstantelias, 19, is valued at around £10m and has garnered interest from a host of European clubs after shining in Super League Greek.
As per Fichajes, Arsenal are monitoring Real Sociedad attacking midfielder Brais Méndez who has caught the eye of manager Mikel Arteta.
Méndez has been phenomenal for Real Sociedad this season having scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists in 24 games. Reportedly, he is valued at €50m by Real Sociedad.
According to Christian Falk, Arsenal have joined Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka.
The Frenchman’s contract expires this summer and has been offered a three-year contract. However, Arsenal are in talks with Ndicka’s agent, although it’s nothing concrete at the moment.
According to a report from Fichajes, Arsenal want to make Declan Rice one of their top signings ahead of the 2023-24 season and are ready to make a huge offer to West Ham.
Rice’s contract expires in 2024 and a lot of big clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea are interested in the services of the England international.
According to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal will not be swayed into a bidding war by Chelsea’s approach as the two cross-London rivals go head-to-head for the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Mudryk has emerged as Mikel Arteta’s top target as they look to add some depth to their frontline for their ongoing title push and they have already made a bid of ‘under €70m’ with Shakhtar demanding in the region of €100m.
The Blues are hoping to trump the Gunners, but Mudryk seemingly has his heart set on a move to the Emirates.

The journalist further claimed that the Gunners could face stiff competition from the City Group and would be sold for a high fee considering his contract expires in 2025.
According to a report by The Independent’s Miguel Delaney (h/t Gooner Talk), Arsenal are still £17.6 million short of meeting Shakhtar’s £88 million price tag for Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are meticulously monitoring the situation and are ready to match the asking price for the prodigious Ukrainian should negotiations between the Gunners and Shakhtar break down.
Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta has cleared the air around future signings at the English club.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Mikel Arteta has said that he’s looking to improve his squad in every window and the higher managerial hierarchy at the club makes the final decision.
Arteta revealed that looking at his current squad the Gunners need to bring reinforcements in every window to bolster their roster.

Calciomercato has reported that Arsenal could ignite their interest in Liverpool’s Arthur Melo. The Brazilian midfielder has failed to mark an impression at Anfield owing to his injuries.
And if the former Barcelona player could prove his fitness, Mikel Arteta could try and sign Arthur.
The Gunners need a strong bench strength for constant rotation and currently lack impactful players coming on from the bench, something Arthur can change.
According to a report from ESPN, Arsenal have extended Bukayo Saka’s tenure at the Emirates until 2024 by activating a clause in his contract.
The Gunner’s are competing to extend Saka’s contract beyond 2024 but this clause ensures that they won’t lose him until then.
The England international has received massive interest from multiple European elites, and the Gunners were hopeful to tie down Saka to a new deal as they continue their gallop towards the Premier League title.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have stepped-up their efforts to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk with a new bid.
The Gunners had previously offered Shakhtar an offer worth 40m plus 20m add-ons but the club had rejected the English club’s initial offer.

According to Jeunes Footeux, his progress has piqued the interest of both the Gunners and the Red Devils, who are now engaged in a straight tussle for his services. It is believed that Mannsverk could be available for around £9m.
Arsenal are reportedly to be interested in making a move for Inter Milan’s soon-to-be free agent defender Milan Skriniar.
The Slovakian international has been the subject of much transfer speculation recently, with clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur vying for his services.
And Italian outlet Calciomercato have said the Gunners are now amongst the clubs said to be keeping a close eye on his contract situation. A towering centre-back renowned for his tackling and heading, Skriniar is regarded as a world-class defender by many.
The Gunners are looking for a new defender and are planning to hijack Skriniar as Spurs and PSG seemingly lose ground in their pursuit of Skriniar.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal is exploring the option to sign Joao Felix on loan. After the injury to Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Arteta has been hunting for possible replacements with Felix’s name popping up on his list.
And with the Portuguese forward pushing for a move away from Spain, the Gunners want to sign Felix on loan as it’s a cheaper option.
The club is prepared to spend £8m for Joao Felix’s 6-month loan spell along with incurring his wages worth £250k-a-week.
Having rejected Arsenal’s opening bid of €60 million for Mykhaylo Mudryk, Shakhtar Donetsk’s vice director has declared that the club will only accept a much higher offer for the Ukrainian winger.
“€60 million it’s not enough to sign Mudryk. Our director said that we need a bid closer to [Jack] Grealish fee than Antony to sell Mudryk,” Shakhtar vice director Carlo Nicolini stated.
“We’re not even considering a bid with €40m as fixed fee.”

Pep Guardiola wants to recruit Arsenal defender Ben White to Manchester City, according to the Italian publication Calciomercato.
White is allegedly on City’s radar as Guardiola looks to add fresh defenders to the Etihad. White is content with his situation at Arsenal, so a transfer to one of their Premier League rivals appears improbable.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal have had a £55 million opening bid for top target Mykhaylo Mudryk rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Gunners have made it their priority to sign a winger during the January transfer window in a bid to boost their Premier League title challenge.
Mudryk has been identified as their top winter target after tracking his progress since last summer, but Shakhtar Donetsk have slapped a whopping £85m asking price on his head.
Arsenal are still in negotiations with the Ukrainian side and are expected to return with a fresh second offer for Mudryk, who is keen on a move to the Emirates.
According to Football London, Tielemans is currently in fresh talks with Arsenal about a move to the North London club. The Gunners have long been linked with a move to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City.

If they don’t, he will walk away for free in the summer. Arsenal still have Tielemans on their list and are the front-runners in the chase to land his services.
Arsenal have placed a bid amounting to £55 million including add-ons for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk. However, Shakhtar are holding out for more money.
Mudryk has been followed by Arsenal all year along with other big European clubs. But, his heart is set on Arsenal and personal terms are more or less agreed upon.

Arsenal are increasingly confident of signing Ferran Torres in the January transfer window, according to Dean Jones.

And now with the World Cup silver medalist pushing for a switch away from the Foals, the Gunners could pounce on this opportunity to bring Thuram to Emirates.
Borussia Monchengladbach would look to sell him in January for money instead of letting go off him for free in the summer of 2023.
Arsenal might not be able to sign one of Italy’s most promising players, Nicolo Zaniolo, as the Roma forward prepares to reach an agreement with the Giallarossi over a contract extension.
The Gunners did inquire about the player but, according to Football Italia, Zaniolo’s agent has revealed the player’s intentions to continue at Roma beyond 2024.
“There are no clouds on the horizon, we have an excellent rapport with Roma and Tiago Pinto and we’ve agreed that we’ll discuss a contract extension in the future when the club think it’s best. Now, the most important thing is to focus on work and performance on the pitch. The club know that we are ready to sit down and negotiate. I repeat that the rapport with Pinto is excellent and Zaniolo is happy in Rome and with fans,” said Zaniolo’s agent Claudio Vigorelli.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal are in pole position to sign Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk in January.
Di Marzio said to Soccer News: “Mudryk is a really good player. AC Milan wanted him in the summer in case Rafael Leão left, but he was too expensive for Milan. Right now, Arsenal are trying to secure him because they know they are dealing with a very talented player. But whether it will work out in January… I don’t know.”

“I’d love to stay. I’m 23 now so I’ve been here a long time and I’m Arsenal through and through. So to be playing, even in games just like this [friendlies], I’m delighted.”

“Of course injuries are just a minor setback, but of course I just look towards the future and hopefully I can play many more years at the club.”

But now with Thuram’s contract expiring in 2023 and with Borussia Monchengladbach being dependent on sales money to make signing themselves, the German club could be forced to sell Thuram in January itself.
The other option is if Thuram extends a contract in Germany which is looking unlikely considering the interest he’s receiving from all around Europe.
This would seem like a win-win situation for the North London outfit considering they are also planning to bring attacking reinforcements in January and Thuram could tick all the boxes for them.
