THE KINGS takes a look at the biggest transfer news and rumours involving Chelsea

As per BILD, Chelsea target and Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko will extend his contract with Dortmund till 2026.

Moukoko’s contract will expire in the summer and there were multiple reports linking him with a move away from Borussia Dortmund, possibly even Chelsea. However, the report states that Moukoko will extend his stay at the Signal Iduna Park for another 4 years.

According to De Telegraaf (via @ChelsTransfer) Chelsea have agreed a €35m deal (which could rise on to €40m) with PSV for winger Noni Madueke.

As per the report Madueke is now in discussion with Chelsea over personal terms and will travel to London for his medical.

According to journalist Simon Phillips (via Give Me Sport), Chelsea have now ‘accelerated’ their pursuit of the 20-year-old winger and have made ‘initial contact’ with the player’s agent to see whether a deal can be done this month.

Phillips told GiveMeSport: “Chelsea are definitely very keen on this player. He’s one of many top young talents that Chelsea are trying to bring in.

“We’ve seen already, since the new owners came in, that they have been splashing the cash on young players.

“He’s another one that has come to the forefront and they’ve recently accelerated that interest and had some initial contact with his agent to see if a deal is doable.”

The Blues have now been told how much it could cost to sign Moises Caicedo this month as Graham Potter looks to bolster his midfield.

However, bringing the Ecuadorian to Stamford Bridge could come at a premium, with the Seagulls unwilling to sell their star midfelder as they pursue European football.

The 21-year-old, who sees his deal at the Amex Stadium expire in 2025, has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge following the appointment of his former boss. The Seagulls are believed to want £75m-plus for Caicedo and no bid has yet been made.

Brighton now want £75m+ for Moises Caicedo in January. Their CEO Paul Barber tells me the club “understand” if Caicedo wants a move but won’t sell in January unless their valuation is met. #CFC have an excellent relationship with Brighton and have tested the water around £65m.

After completing the signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk, Chelsea are looking to offload Raheem Sterling.

Now, according to Fichajes, Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the Englishman this month, just six months after Sterling left Manchester City to join the Blues.

According to a report from Daily Mail, Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has no desire of leaving the Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old midfielder has offers from Everton, Southampton, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, but is against the idea of moving elsewhere given he is becoming a regular for Graham Potter

Potter himself is against letting Gallagher go as their midfield lacks options at the moment due to the injury list.

As per the Evening Standard, Chelsea are most likely going to let Jorginho’s contract expire and allow him to join a new club next summer.

Jorginho will be a free agent next summer and as per the report, Barcelona and former club Napoli are the two current favourites to sign him.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are currently not discussing a contract renewal with midfielder and academy product Mason Mount, and will only do so after the January transfer window is over.

Mount’s contract expires in 2024 with Chelsea hoping to extend his stay for a longer period as they did with right-back Reece James. Reportedly many clubs are monitoring his situation and could swoop in for him next summer.

Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed that Leicester City is plotting a move for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The English midfielder has been utilized by Graham Potter in multiple positions but with the Blues looking to bring in multiple reinforcements in the upcoming windows, Loftus-Cheek could be sacrificed to make room for other midfielders.

The Foxes could themselves be short handed in the center of the pitch with star player James Maddison attracting massive interest from multiple European elites.

The blockbuster arrival of Mykhaylo Mudryk at Stamford Bridge has put a question mark on Raheem Sterling’s future at Chelsea.

That’s according to Football Insider, who reports that Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for the England international just months after signing the winger from Man City in a deal worth £50m.

However, the midfielder has struggled to remain consistent and has a tough time fitting into boss Graham Potter’s system.

Chelsea have officially announced the signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk after swooping in at the last minute. The 21-year-old has signed a eight-and-half-year deal with Chelsea.

According to the Sun, Crystal Palace are reportedly pushing to re-sign Conor Gallagher in the January transfer window. Palace boss, Patrick Vieira, wants an extra midfielder and wants to bring him back to the club.

That’s according to journalist Simon Phillips (via Give Me Sport), who claims the Blues ‘have made contact’ with Zubimendi’s agents as new boss Graham Potter looks to bolster his midfield options.

With Jorginho and N’Golo Kante’s contracts expiring next summer, the Blues want to sign a midfielder. They have made the first move for Zubimendi, whose current contract does not to expire until the summer of 2027, and includes a release clause worth £56 million.

According to Media Foot, Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United are set to battle it out for the signing of Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier, but the two English clubs are facing stiff competition from German giants Bayern Munich.

According to recent rumours, Blues goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has been linked with a move away from the club and Mendy has turned down a contract offer from Chelsea.

In that case, Graham Potter will have to find a suitable successor. And Meslier has emerged as a possible Chelsea target.

According to Foot Mercato, Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr have come forward with an interest in signing French midfielder N’Golo Kante on a Bosman transfer next summer when his contract with Chelsea runs out.

The 31-year-old has only featured in two Premier League fixtures this season due to a long-term injury.

Kante’s age and injury problems may compel the Blues to part ways with him at the end of the season, especially given Chelsea owner Todd Boehly’s intention to recruit younger players in the summer market and reduce the average age of the squad.

According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs (via Give Me Sport), Chelsea are in ‘ongoing conversations’ over a deal to sign 18-year-old Borussia Dortmund and Germany striker Youssoufa Moukoko as they look to understand the deal.

The Blues are concered that the 18-year-old striker would use the interest from the Premier League outfit as leverage to secure a better deal at Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea are going all guns blazing in the market to acquire some of the best young talents from across the globe, having already closed deals for David Datro Fofana, and Brazilian midfield sensation Andrey Santos.

Jacobs told GMS: “Chelsea’s preference has always been to work the player side to try and get him to agree to a summer move and then their hope, therefore, is that he won’t sign a new deal and they’ll get him on a free transfer, which is cost-effective and they get a young talent.

“But due to Armando Broja’s injury, there is a chance that Chelsea want to escalate the situation and bring in Moukoko earlier. These are ongoing conversations.”

Leao owes €19.5 million to his former club Sporting CP after losing all legal battles for breach of contract, and he wants the employers of his next deal to cover it on top of his extravagant salary demands.

Chelsea are said to be long admirers of Rafael Leao and the Blues are prepared to bear all expenses to bring the Portuguese international to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are reportedly the best-placed club to sign Brighton and Ecuador defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo ahead of the Premier League rivals, Liverpool and Manchester United.

That’s according to journalist Dean Jones, who believes the Blues will be the clear favourites for the 21-year-old’s signature owing to the player’s close relationship with former boss Graham Potter when the Seagulls do decide to part ways with their in-demand midfielder.

Jones told GMS: “I don’t think Brighton will sell him in January, but whenever the time comes, I expect Chelsea to be in the best position to sign him because of the relationship with Graham Potter.”

“Chelsea want two new midfielders and they want two new midfielders who specifically can play in the six position, whether that be as a lone defensive midfielder or part of a double pivot, depending on what formation Chelsea line-up with,” Phillips stated.

“But they definitely want two new midfielders purely because of the situations with contracts with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante. Both at the minute look like they could leave as free agents.”

Hakim Ziyech has been one of the star performers at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, showcasing the real potential the Chelsea winger possesses. He has been outstanding for Morocco, and has put himself in the shop window along the way.

AC Milan have been interested in Ziyech since the summer, far before his current remarkable run of form, and are now ready to make a formal approach to sign the 29-year-old playmaker.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football-Italia), AC Milan are ready to make an opening loan bid for Ziyech, with an option to buy of around €15 million. According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by SportWitness, Chelsea are leading the race to land Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries, who is currently starring for the Netherlands at the World Cup.

The Blues are looking to offload their American winger after the former Borussia Dortmund player has failed to turn heads at Stamford Bridge.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Denzel Dumfries’ agent has expressed that he doesn’t want his client’s price to rocket sky high after his outing in Qatar.

Rafaela Pimenta believes hopes that Dumfries’ price doesn’t massively increase otherwise it would be difficult to get him a move.

Currently Chelsea are the front runners to sign Dumfries from Inter and considering Inter’s financial position they would be prepared to accept any bids in the region of 50m for the Dutch defender.

As things stand, Frimpong is looking likely to sign for Manchester United, but the Blues could attempt to hijack the move as they search for a long-term replacement for Cesar Azpilicueta, who could leave Stamford Bridge in the near future.

However, rumours of a move have persisted, and the centre-back addressed the possibility after playing an instrumental in helping Croatia advance into the Round of 16 with a stellar display in the final game against Belgium.

The French midfielder’s contract with Juventus expires this summer and it looks like he’s not interested to extend his stay in Turin, giving Chelsea a shimmer of hope.

While talking to GiveMeSport, journalist Pete O’Rourke exclaimed that Chelsea is going to closely monitor Portuguese winger Rafael Leao at the World Cup in Qatar.

According to reports, the Italian outfit would accept offers in the region of €100m, something the Blues would be prepared to fork out for Leao.

Speaking to Sport-Express (via Sports Mole), Dynamo Moscow winger Arsen Zakharyan confirmed that Chelsea are negotiating a move for him with his club.

“Despite some speculation doing the rounds, I’m told there have been talks ongoing for a long time between Mason Mount and Chelsea,” Romano explained.

“It’s still not done but it’s under discussion, and for Chelsea it’s seen as an important priority to extend Mount’s deal.

Graham Potter has Chelsea’s “total backing,” despite the fact that the new manager has presided over three consecutive Premier League losses.

The Blues are adamant that Potter is the ideal person for the position, according to The Athletic, even if some fans are already growing impatient with Potter.

Potter has already been assured of Chelsea’s support, and there is a strong belief around the club that Potter “has been appointed for future seasons, not just this one.”

Out-of-favour Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech is reportedly on the radar of Serie A giants AC Milan, who want to sign the player in January, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Dutch defender has been on the Red Devils’ wishlist and now the Blues are also targeting the young right-back. With Reece James injured for the World Cup and beyond, Graham Potter needs a solid right-back to bolster his backline. Potter has previously played Sterling and Loftus-Cheek in unfamiliar right wing-back positions and a player like Frimpong could fit the criteria better than the duo.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea wants to sign Denzel Dumfries in the January transfer window. The Inter Milan defender would cost the London club a fees around €30m, something the Blues are prepared to pay. The reports further states that Dumfries was a target in the previous window as well but he continued to stay in Italy. With Graham Potter aiming to rebuild his defense, the Dutch defender could be one of the favourites to arrive at Stamford Bridge.

CaughtOffside has reported that Atletico Madrid defender Jimenez has caught Chelsea’s eyes and the club could aim to bring him in January. Despite spending largely on defensive reinforcements this summer the Blues have conceded goals in crucial fixtures. And reportedly Graham Potter is interested in acquiring the Uruguayan centre-back to bolster his backline.

Graham Potter’s Chelsea are the latest club in the hunt for Endrick from Palmeiras. The 16-year-old could join the Blues in 2024 for a whopping price of €60m. Although Real Madrid and PSG are also leading the race to sign Endrick, Todd Boehly would be hoping to obtain the Brazilian’s services considering Chelsea’s rollercoaster form this summer.

Chelsea have been misfiring in front of goal this season and are looking for solutions in the market. The Blues have identified Stade Rennais forward, Martin Terrier, as a potential solution to their struggling attack, according to a report from Jeunes Footeux.

The French forward scored 21 goals in the league for Rennes last season.

Alexis Vega has emerged on the radar of several big clubs in Europe. The 24-year-old is predominantly a left-sided winger but is versatile enough to operate as a centre-forward and a right-winger as well.

According to Give Me Sport, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Liverpool will keep a close eye on the Mexican winger at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The report further suggests that the Italian wants an annual salary of €10 million, in addition to a signing fee of €12 million, something which the Catalans won’t be happy to offer due to their financial constraints.

As per Talksport, Chelsea are no longer interested in Everton starlet Anthony Gordon whom they tried to sign in the last transfer window.

Fichajes has reported that Barcelona is keeping close tabs on Chelsea target Josko Gvardiol. The Croatian center-back has been on the Blues’ radar for a long time but now Barcelona has also joined the race to get his signature. Considering Barcelona is seeing Gvardiol as Pique’s replacement, Chelsea needs to make a move for him in January.

Jorginho, 30, is out of contract at the end of the season and he’s received interest from Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan. And the Italian playmaker appears to be angling for a move away from Stamford Bridge.

While Chelsea are keen to keep the Italian, the player’s ludicrous demands are stalling any contract extension talks. The 30-year-old vice-captain has asked for a pay rise that would see his salary double despite turning 31 next month.

Jorginho currently nets around £5.5 million a year after tax. According to Spanish outlet Sport, he demands that hiked to a net salary of £12 million a year. Moreover, it has been reported that he is using Barcelona and Juventus interest as a leverage in negotiations.

According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are reportedly set to face competition from London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign full-back Denzel Dumfries from Inter in January.

Dumfries, 26, has been consistently linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the last year or so, with recent reports suggesting that they could revive their interest in the Dutch defender in the January transfer window due to Reece James’ injury, which has left them without a natural wing-back option on the right side. However, Spurs have now jumped the bandwagon of suitors to sign Dumfries, and are even ready to propose Emerson Royal in a swap deal for the Dutch international.

Christian Emile, Kvara’s agent, appeared on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, where he stated how much the 21-year-old’s market value would rise to by the end of the season.

“He’s come to Napoli, he’s been brilliant, and people are talking about €100 million. For me, if he continues to perform like this till the end of the season and next season, because there’s a zero per cent chance they sell him [in January]. He will reach €100 million for sure,” Emile explained.

Chelsea are considering signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot during the upcoming winter transfer window, according to a report from Fichajes.

The player was close to a move to fellow Premier League side Manchester United in the summer, before the move fell through. As things stand, the Bianconeri will not stand in the player’s way provided the Blues match the asking price for the player.

According to Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos, the Italian midfielder wants to extend his stay at Chelsea.

“I have never met [Barcelona director] Mateu Alemany. Our priority is the renewal with Chelsea. The only club I have spoken to in recent weeks is Chelsea,” Santos told Relevo’s Matteo Moretto.

That’s according to the German outlet Sport1, who claim that the French defender has grown frustrated with inconsistent minutes he has received under boss Julian Nagelsmann and could be open to a move away from the Allianz Arena.

Despite spending the best part of £250m, Blues still have major gaps in their squad, especially in the wing-back department, with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic having to slot there to compensate for the injury absence of Reece James and Ben Chilwell.

Pavard, 26, will enter the final year of his contract next summer, something the Blues might take advantage of given their long-term interest in the 2018 World Cup winner.

Okafor, 22, is one of Europe’s most sought-after players after a red-hot start to the current season with RB Salzburg and has been linked with a host of European big guns such as Milan and Chelsea.

The versatile attacker has addressed question about his next move ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League match against AC Milan at San Siro, but remains undecided between Spain, England, Italy or Germany as his future destination.

“Whether it’s England, Spain, Italy or Germany, every league has a special charm, when there will be something concrete, we’ll assess it,” he told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Okafor: “A Milano senza pressioni. Il Milan è molto forte: sarà bella esperienza”

Italian giants Juventus are taking ‘as much information as possible’ on Chelsea star N’Golo Kante before deciding on whether to make a contract offer for him next summer when the Frenchman will be available for a free transfer.

Kanté, 31, has made 262 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Leicester City in 2016, tallying 13 goals and assisting a further 15, in addition to helping them win the Premier League and the Champions League.

Despite his remarkable contributions to the club in recent past, the Blues do not appear to be keen in extending his current deal owing to the 31-year-old’s growing injury problems.

Injuries have plagued his ongoing season at Stamford Bridge, with the player set to miss the World Cup, and is unlikely to return until the new year.
